Awards Subcommittee – Funding Application Guidelines
When reviewing applications for funding submitted by past or present pupils of the School, the subcommittee shall give due consideration to, but shall not be irrevocably bound by, the following factors: –
The total funds available to the Association for disbursement.
Applications should demonstrate that the project for which funding is requested confers some identifiable benefit to the School or the Association or both.
In the case of an individual making an application;
- There should be evidence of successful fund-raising from other sources;
- There should generally be an element of competition / selection for the place within the particular project.
- The applicant must be willing to write an article about his or her activity for publication in the Association’s annual magazine.
- Funding will not be provided for gap-year `holidays’ unless there is very strong evidence that favourable publicity will result for the School or the Association, or both and that the trip involves the performance of certain ‘Good Works’.
Consideration will not normally be given to funding of `School consumables’ or other items that might reasonably be expected to have been included in the School’s budget.
Applications by letter, in the first instance, should be sent no later than 2 weeks prior to the next AOOEs’ Executive Committee Meeting to one of the Joint Secretaries of the Awards Sub-Committee:
